LAE designed a new facility for Shinsegae Foods to produce heat-and-serve food products. The site of the project was extremely challenging due to its small size, access easements, and utility connections. Through creative thinking and negotiation with the local jurisdiction, LAE developed a design that maximizes the building area, considers vehicle access, and meets owner and jurisdiction requirements. The program of the facility included offices, a breakroom, shipping and receiving areas, production space, and freezer and cooler rooms.
The building is steel frame with insulated metal panel cladding. Interior spaces were designed to meet FDA/USDA requirements for food safety.
LAE developed the architectural and structural design and also acted as the design manager for MEP, civil, and landscape.
